GCSE Results - Summer 2025

St Birinus School

St Birinus School is celebrating the excellent achievement of its students in their GCSE qualifications this

summer. Students in this Year 11 cohort have worked consistently hard and brought real determination

and character to their Key Stage 4 courses and to school culture more widely. We are delighted that the

grades awarded today genuinely recognise their commitment and ambition and allow students

progress onto the destinations that they desire.

 

  • 70% of our 173 Year 11 students achieved a Grade 4 and above in English and Maths, and 50%

achieved Grade 5 or above in both. 

  • 64% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9-4) and 46% of students

gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9-5).

  • 78% of students achieved Grade 4 and above in English and 79% achieved Grade 4 and above

in Maths. At Grade 5 and above, 61% were successful in English and 61% in Maths.

 

In summary, for the 173 students in Year 11 …

64% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9 – 4)

50% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9 – 5)

78% of students gained a grade 4 or above in English

61% of students gained a grade 5 or above in English

20% of students gained a grade 7 or above in English

79% of students gained a grade 4 or above in Maths

61% of students gained a grade 5 or above in Maths

31% of students gained a grade 7 or above in Maths

Overall Attainment 8 figure – 48

boys have demonstrated a most remarkable character and resilience. I am very pleased with the results

that they have achieved today and so excited for their next steps post 16.

Didcot Girls School

Today we congratulate our Year 11 students as they receive their GCSE results. We are so pleased that this hard-working cohort, who have been a pleasure to teach, have achieved such excellent results which allow them to progress to their sixth form, college or training course of choice.

We are delighted that 87% of our 262 Year 11 students achieved a Grade 4 and above in English and Maths, and 72% achieved Grade 5 or above in both.

83% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9-4) and 69% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9-5).

92% of students achieved Grade 4 and above in English and 88% achieved Grade 4 and above in Maths.

At Grade 5 and above, 83% were successful in English and 75% in Maths.

Results at the highest levels are excellent across all subjects with 42% of all grades at 7-9 and 25% at grades 8 or 9. 44 students achieved 6 or more grades 8 or 9.

In summary, for the 262 students:

- 83% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9-4)

- 69% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9-5)

- 92% of students gained a grade 4 or above in English

- 83% of students gained a grade 5 or above in English

- 45% of students gained a grade 7 or above in English

- 88% of students gained a grade 4 or above in Maths

- 75% of students gained a grade 5 or above in Maths

- 36% of students gained a grade 7 or above in Maths

- 42% of all entries were graded 9-7

-38% of students gained 5 or more grades 9-7

- 97% of students gained 5 GCSE passes (9-1) -

Overall attainment 8 figure: 58.46
